Nobody likes a rule breaker and neither do we. Here are the highlights of the rules and regs but make sure you download the full PDF version and are across the full set of rules for the tournament.


Tournament format

GoFish Nagambie is a Catch, Measure, Release Tournament. 

Catch: Both bait and lures are permitted for use

Measure: Use the iCatch app to measure and enter your catch into the tournament

Release: After carefully photographing your catch please humanely release the fish


Murray Cod, Golden Perch Redfin, European Carp*

*Carp is a noxious species and should not be released once caught.

age categories

The tournament will include two age categories,

Junior – ages 5 to 15 years 

Open – 16 years +

Age based on participants age at the time of tournament

Competition Briefing: Thursday 2nd April – 7pm

Friday 3rd April – 7:30am to 5:00pm

Saturday 4th April – 7:30am to 4:00pm

Sunday 5th April – 6:30am to 10:00am

capped entries

Participant numbers are capped at 3,000

Boats are further capped at 1,000

fishing vessels

Participants can fish from boat (excluding wake boats), Kayaks, Canoe, PWCs and from the banks

Unpermitted fishing methods

Fish pre-caught and tethered or caught in nets are not permissible and will result in disqualification


No refunds will be given unless requested by 1st March 2020 prior to the conduct of the event and $50 of the entry fee will be retained for administration

Competition Prizes and Draws

Prize draw dates and times

Prizes will be announced at the Festival Hub on the following dates and times:

Friday 3rd April – 7:00pm

Saturday 4th April – 7:00pm

Sunday 5th April – 12:00pm

Prizes will be available for collection and take home on the day of the prize draw. 

Prizes will be held for collection until 3:30pm on Sunday 5th April

Waterways Compliance

All competitors between the ages of 18 and 70 must hold a current Victorian Fishing Licence, as per Victorian State Law

state laws and regulation

All competitors must observe the Victorian Recreational Fishing Regulations 

It is the responsibility of the participants to comply with all Maritime Safety Victoria regulations and all appropriate boat licences and safety equipment for Victoria
