At GoFish Nagambie we are passionate about the local environment and keeping our waterways healthy. We are full of pride when we talk about the Goulburn River – it is not only the jewel in GoFish Nagambie’s crown, but also one of the jewels in our State’s crown.
Catch, measure, release.
GoFish Nagambie is a catch, measure and release tournament. The good news is that Australian and International research shows that most freshwater fish survive after release, and that catch and release fishing is effective for managing and conserving stocks. While these results are very positive, survival can be improved and adverse effects to river health reduced if appropriate catch and release practices are used.
Our Approved fishing methods page has more information on our best practice catch, measure and release used at GoFish Nagambie.
Refuelling for boats.
At GoFish Nagambie there will be convenient and carefully managed refuelling for boats. This is to ensure that we take care not to spill any fuel into the Goulburn River. The side effects of fuel spillage into aquatic ecosystems can have a huge impact on local biodiversity directly affecting water quality.

Disposing of plants by drying and burning.
