2. Big fish

Our mates Paul Worsteling and Rhys Creed recently proved that the Nagambie Lakes has big fish and plenty of them. The boys had an absolute ripper of a time managing to land 5 cod in one 2-hr session early in the morning. Later that arvo, they landed an absolute horse at 94cm on the troll.

3. Weather

Thanks to our friend Jane Bunn, we released the 4-day ANZAC weekend ‘before cast’ earlier in the week – 28 degrees and sunny… in all seriousness, the last weekend in April is known as a beautiful time of year in Nagambie. The backwaters in Nagambie are perfectly sheltered for a full day of fishing.

4. A bad days fishing, beats a good day working

Say no more.

5. GoNagambie Festival

The Festival Hub is an awesome gathering place for where fishos, foodies and families can gather, relax and chill-out.

By day, we’re talking casting competitions, education sessions and workshops, fishing gear, outdoor gear, lots of food and wine tastings, kids’ activities and live music.

By night, we’re talking food trucks, the best bar to grace the shores of Nagambie Lakes, daily presentations and prize winners and night-time entertainment including bands and fireworks.

6. Camping

Fishing and camping. Hook and Line. Beer and Esky. Lennie and Carl. You just can’t have one without the other. Which is why we are setting up the greatest of campsites to go with the great fishing within out tournament zone.

Located right on the banks of the Goulburn River, this will be ground zero for the keenest of competitors getting out on the water.

The campsite will be set up especially for convenience, security and fishing, with staff available 24-hours. Both powered and un-powered sites are available and, this is the big news, we’ll have an exclusive boat ramp only available for campers staying at the site, ensuring you’ll be in the water as fast as possible each day.

That’s not all. We’ll be running a FREE shuttle bus between the campsite, Nagambie and the Festival Hub and there will be showers and toilets available, exactly what you want after a long day out on the water before heading in to the Hub for the festivities.

Feast is the culinary gateway to the exceptional food, drink and produce of the Shire of Strathbogie which is sure to whet, or should we say wet, your appetite.
