Boy holding big Yellowbelly at Lake Nagambie

Labour Day Weekend Report

Still getting some good reports coming in from the lower Goulburn from Nagambie and south towards Seymour.

Lots of decent sized Redfin are being taken on spinners and the occasional nice sized cod are taking bait such as Bardi Grubs, Cheese and big yabbies.

Whilst the wineries at Nagambie have quietened a little bit, the Lake at Kirwans Bridge is still firing.

Trolling big lures and casting surface lures is getting ripper number of cod in the area especially along the drop-offs and willow trees. If its Reddies or Yellas you’re chasing, bobbing shrimp, smaller yabbies or soft plastics is producing the goods.

Below the weir is starting to fish great, the water levels have dropped slightly, the flow is starting to ease and the water is nice and clear, resulting in decent cod and yellowbelly. As always, its the key bite windows or dawn and dusk that are producing the bigger fish.
